A Pennsylvania lease termination letter (30-day notice) is a convenient legal tool for landlords and tenants to cancel their lease formally. While state law doesn’t specify a notice period for terminating periodic leases, it’s typically governed by the rental agreement terms. In the absence of specific terms, the standard notice period is thirty (30) days or one (1) month.
This document also serves to provide the required 30-day notice for tenancies exceeding one year. If a tenant remains on the property after legal lease termination, the landlord may initiate eviction proceedings.
Governing Law — 68 P.S. § 250.501.
Required Notice Period — 30 days.
Tenancy Length — Longer than 1 year.
